New MOPMINI Gaining Traction in the Market
MOP is scheduled to roll out three new MOPMINI spill kits over the next 3 quarters. MOP 301 - I (land and hard surface optimized) in Q2, MOP 201 (water optimized) Q3 and MOP 401 - (Universal Sorbent) in Q4. We will advance production if demand permits us to do so responsibly. Roll out will mirror production of the 30lb pickup consumer box for the same sorbent. Marketing efforts will focus on businesses that state and federal regulations require maintain vehicles with Spill Kits on Board. Marketing will focus on retailers and retail distributors for the MOP 30lb Oil Pickup Box.
"Our MOPMINI Spillkit will retail at less than 1/2 the cost of any budget spillkit on the market (Recommended retail cost $19.99) - but just as important," said CEO Wayne King,"it will be the perfect fit for vehicles that are already tight for extra space - essentially fitting in a hand at 7 inches cubed, while boasting 30lbs of pickup.
"There's been a lot of grumbling out there," said King, "that spill kits take up too much space in vehicles that are already overtaxed for space. We believe that utility vehicles and emergency vehicles should have a spill kit on board, but the cost shouldn't break the community and the kit should fit easily into a nook or cranny within the vehicle. The MOPMINI does just that.
MOP will begin marketing of the Kit most likely to be in demand our land-optimized 301-I kit with direct marketing to communities, utility companies and other businesses with a demonstrated need. MOP is also looking to its friends and supporters - what they term their "Stewardship Team" to help spread the word using Social Media, alerting their local police and fire departments, utility companies and retail auto and hardware stores as well as general retailers who now carry non-recyclable clay-based products."We're going nose to nose with the producers of clay - the silent menace to groundwater," said King. MOP sorbents are 100% recycled and 100% biodegradable. We intend to make sure that consumers know that using clay-based products to clean up oil spills requires treatment of the oil-soaked clay as a hazardous waste. Where the usage of MOP products are the safest for our environment and can be disposed as you would a paper towel or a leaf because our product biodegrades the oil and is itself biodegradable."
Calls the Use of Clay “A Silent Menace”
Stating that the “vast majority of states continue to use Clay-based products for cleaning up oil spills on land and in garages, in contravention to Federal Law and in many cases their own laws.” Former state Senator and nominee for Governor in NH, Wayne King who is currently CEO of MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc. – today called on states to take action to ban products containing clay because of rampant misuse.
King said that the misuse of clay is a national problem and that enforcement of even exiting laws regarding its disposal are ignored because states know that they themselves are violating those same statutes on a daily basis. “The States need to set an example for their business community by either abiding by the law and disposing of clay as a hazardous waste or moving to a more sustainable solution that does not cause widespread problems associated with oil contamination.”
King announced that MOP, a manufacturer of oil spill cleanup and other sustainable environmental solutions, would commission a national survey of states to determine the full extent of clay use by State and local government agencies.
“Contrary to what the manufactures of clay-based oil spill products want us to believe clay does NOT absorb oil, instead clay causes oil to cling lightly to the outside of its individual particles, easily releasing it to the environment if it is not cleaned up and disposed as a hazardous waste. Its use is a Silent Menace to our efforts to avoid oil contamination of groundwater.
Manufacturer’s skirt the law by placing an innocuous statement on their packaging stating that laws governing the disposal of oil contaminated absorbents vary from state to state and that consumers should check their local regulations. Yet EPA standards (commonly referred to as the “Paint Filter Test”) clearly state that any product that easily gives up the oil absorbed requires disposal as a hazardous waste – a far more expensive process. Clay products should be labeled properly to make it clear that Hazardous Waste Disposal is Required for Clay-based absorbents.
MOP’s own oil sorbents, Maximum Oil Pickup 201, 301 and 401 are among a fairly sizeable selection of safe, sustainable and non-toxic alternatives. “While we are proud to say that our sorbents (a general term for both adsorbents and absorbents) are the most cost-effective and performance-efficient on the market, there are other alternatives as well, many of which - like MOP - are made from non-toxic, recycled products and can safely be disposed as a standard solid waste because they will hold the oil in their matrix long enough for bio-degradation to take place without causing harm to the environment.
King hopes that consumers will take notice even before Governments move to ban clay based absorbents and begin making the environmentally sustainable choice themselves immediately. “Clay is as much as 10 times heavier and far less efficient than MOP or other safe products,” King said. “This makes it far more expensive to use on a pound for pound basis. If properly disposed at a hazardous waste facility, the cost of clay will be up to 10 times more than other alternatives. Citizens can strike a blow for the environment and their wallets by boycotting clay-based products themselves right now and demand that state and local governments themselves come into compliance with the law.”
“Clay is fine for cats, NOT for oil” said King, while there are more sustainable solutions to using clay in the cat box as well, we don’t worry about pollution from the cat litter box. Oil contamination is another matter entirely. “One gallon of oil, improperly disposed can contaminate 1 million gallons of water. That’s a serious danger to our groundwater resources nationwide.

Season’s greetings from MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc.!
This letter is intended to provide a bit of an update on the comings and goings at MOP. In the month and a half since Charlie Diamond’s passing we have been putting our best effort forward to make the transition to a new leadership team, while at the same time anticipating the addition of other members of the MOP team that can help us expand our sales and the mission of MOP.
All of this has happened in an atmosphere where our ability to communicate has been hobbled by two important realities:
1. The 15c2-11 process that moves MOP to a higher reporting level where shareholder value is enhanced by a higher number of Market Makers and a higher level of transparency ostensibly generating enhanced public confidence. Ironically, the effort to become more transparent requires a “low-transparency” process that minimizes the amount of reported news (each of which generates added questions from FNRA ).
2. Attempts to reconstruct as much of Charlie Diamond’s historic knowledge of the company workings as we possibly could. As you might imagine, more than four decades of knowledge about MOP and the Bath plant was bundled up inside that marvelous oversized brain of Charlie’s. Charlie kept careful records of the things that were required by law and rule so understanding those things were “just” a matter of reviewing an extensive number of notebooks. However, the more esoteric and non-statutory collections of information were not quite so simple. . . (now where did Charlie keep the combination to that safe that holds the recipe for MOP’s “secret sauce”? Who was the contractor that developed the hydro Cavitation solution with Charlie? That solution can probably yield an income stream of more than a million dollars a year for MOP!)
I’m pleased to report that we are reasonably confident that the urgent matters with respect to Charlies historic knowledge seem to have been resolved: left twice to 18, right . . . (NOW you didn’t think we were going to give you the combination did you?); Ryan Vizena helped Charlie develop the Cavitation solution and yes we think it can generate some attractive profits for MOP.
The 15c2-11process is a bit more of a challenge. We find ourselves faced with the Hobesian choice of continuing to effort the application while creating a seemingly endless process by returning to a status quo ante or imposing a news blackout, under the worst case scenario, that has a chance of resolving the process successfully. We have decided on the former. It is clear to us that keeping some level of news about the company flowing is too important to continuing confidence, even if it means that achieving the 15c2-11 status takes considerably longer. This decision represents a reversal of a “board” decision by Charles Diamond. We suspect it will not be the last.
With respect to moving ahead I would like to bring you up to date on a few of the projects that some shareholders have been enquiring about. We continue to be very optimistic about many of our international projects, though some have presented enormous challenges related to state corruption, bureaucratic shuffling and re-shuffling and the challenges imposed by a worldwide recession.
The Saudi Team is currently interviewing and negotiating with a large distribution company. Their website indicates that they are a registered trading and contracting company with the country's industry leaders such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Saudi Electricity Company and others. Dr. Nayfeh, president of MOP SA has told us that they will be making a decision fairly soon about representing MOP.
A total of four orders have come from MOP’s Ecuadoran Distributor and a recent conversation with President Fernando Banalcazar confirmed that he is aggressively developing his market and that he expects the New Year to bring increased sales of MOP. Banalcazar has put together a strong consortium of Oil Spill Response and product/service companies to bid on a large project. His innovative approaches give us a great deal of confidence in what lies ahead with him.
EGS continues its efforts with C-Level management of firms from Nigeria, Ghana and Guinea, West Africa, to Brazil, New Zealand and other countries. As you might imagine, working at this level takes longer but yields bigger sales over longer periods of time. Jim has expressed confidence that his efforts will yield results soon.
The purchase of the Groveton Mill remains on track and we have already had more than 5 inquiries from potential tenants and joint ventures. We are optimistic that a closing will take place during t5he month of January and then MOP will have adequate operational funds to launch an aggressive marketing effort. The Groveton location will also give us the opportunity to register MOP as a HubZone business, thus qualifying us for a 3% set aside with federal Prime Contractors and procurement agents. The funding for this project is all debt financing and will not dilute shareholder equity.
Very soon we will have more information to report including an update on some new patents being filed and other alliances and contracts.
